Jerusalem: Israel ‘will never be driven from Jerusalem,’ envoy tells UN
UNITED NATION: Israel’s envoy to the United Nations vowed Thursday that his nation would by no means be “pushed” from Jerusalem as UN member states ready to vote on rejecting Washington’s recognition of the Holy Metropolis as its capital.
“No Basic Meeting decision will ever drive us from Jerusalem,” Ambassador Danny Danon informed an emergency session of the 193-nation meeting.
A draft decision rejecting the US transfer was despatched to the Basic Meeting after it was vetoed by the US on the Safety Council on Monday, though all different 14 council members voted in favor.
